GET INVOLVED

Different ways to become involved with "Off the Record"

Volunteer Counsellor Placements

"Off the Record" delivers a large proportion of its services through volunteers.   Our counselling service has a team of up to 20 volunteer counselors, who come from a variety of cultural and ethic backgrounds.

We require our counselors to have a minimum of 100 hours counselling training at diploma level.   If you meet those requirements, and are looking for a placement, then give us a call to find out more.

Young Carers Befriending Project

Befrienders provide a valuable support service to young people who are performing the role of carer within the family home and are caring for a parent or close relative who is physically disabled, has learning disabilities, mental health issues, a long term illness or are addicted to drugs or alcohol.

A befriender will provide some valuable respite   a couple of times a month and one to one attention for the young carer and will take them on a variety of day trips, outings and leisure activities that they may otherwise not have a chance to experience.

The Management Committee

The Trustees of "Off The Record" hold overall legal and governance responsibility for the work of the agency. They have a highly valued, responsible and vital role to play in the life of the agency. They currently meet once a month for two hours.

We are particularly interested in seeking people who have experience, knowledge or skills in the following areas:

Charity Management, Human Resources, Fundraising   and experience in any of our service areas.

If you would like the opportunity to play a real part in a dynamic and innovative agency offering valuable support and making a difference in the lives of young people then call us on 020 8251 0251
