Being a Young Carer

If you are a young carer then we believe that you play a special role in caring for someone else.  Young carers provide support to their family members in many different ways and as a result many pay a price to their own health, education and social needs.

The Young Carers Project aims to help reduce the stress and strain of your caring role. By providing emotional and educational support alongside trips and activities, we want you to be able to have a full life that includes both being a carer but also enjoying being a young person.

At Young Carers we also aim to make sure that the role you play is the right one - often as carers you take on the role of caring for everything and sometimes that can be too much. You might be supporting your family member with many aspects of their care such as medication, diet, appointments, personal and physical care.

We're here to ensure that you're not taking on too much and to make sure that you are getting the help you need to carry out these tasks.  We want to make sure that you are coping okay as a carer because we care about carers...
